Help a Child, Support Food For The Poor’s Annual Drawing Contest
COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (July 14, 2015) – The children in Food For The Poor’s Angels Of Hope program are receiving loving care in 139 orphanages throughout the Caribbean and Latin America.
Since 2008, the children in Angels Of Hope have been encouraged to express themselves through art, showcasing their creative use of color and artistic skills in an annual drawing contest. This year’s theme is “National Pride.”
The contest consists of two categories, the Junior Division, which includes children 12 and under, and the Senior Division, featuring children ages 13 and up. The top entries were chosen from children from nine countries and their work will be featured on Food For The Poor’s website, where fans will help select a winner. The voting starts on Tuesday, July 14, and will end on Thursday, July 30.
The first-place winning artist from each division will receive $500 for their Food For The Poor-supported home. The second-place winners each will receive $300 and the third-place winners each will receive $200 for their Angels Of Hope homes. The six winners will be announced via Facebook on July 31.
“Food For The Poor’s Angels Of Hope program supports more than 4,500 children with food, clothing, shelter, and an education. But more importantly, we want these children to feel loved,” said Angel Aloma, Executive Director of Food For The Poor. “Personal expression through art can do wonders for a child’s self-esteem. All who entered this year’s contests are winners and we are very proud of their efforts.”
