Food For The Poor’s 2015 Annual Report
COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (April 27, 2016) Food For The Poor, named by The Chronicle of Philanthropy as one of the largest international relief and development organizations in the United States, shipped 3,660 containers of essential goods and provided nearly $1.2 billion in aid in 2015, according to its Annual Report released this week.
In 2015, Food For The Poor built 9,431 new housing units for families in need of secure shelter, bringing the total to more than 107,800 housing units since 1982. Thanks to the loving generosity of its donors, almost 57 million pounds of food were distributed to feed malnourished children and their families, which does not include the yield from hundreds of donor supported agriculture, aquaculture and animal husbandry projects.
“The heart felt gratitude from the people Food For The Poor serves is reflected in their faces. When they receive food, a desperately needed house, or when the family can support their children and provide them an education, it is something that’s truly life-changing,” said Robin Mahfood, CEO/President of Food For the Poor. “Our goals for 2016 are to help as many families as possible to become self-sufficient. None of this would be possible without God’s blessing and without the loving support and kindness of our donors. We thank you.”
