Every workday, we hold a prayer service at Food For The Poor. On Mondays, it’s a quiet time where we can reflect on our many blessings. We remember those in need here and around the world, and the generous people who help them. Pauline, our Human Resources Director, shared this beautiful prayer recently that was sent to us by a thoughtful donor.
“Oh God, when I have food, help me to remember the hungry.
When I have work, help me remember the jobless.
When I have a warm home, help me remember the homeless.
When I am without pain, help me remember those who suffer.
And remembering, help me to destroy my complacency
and increase my compassion.Make me concerned enough to help by word and by deed, those who cry out for what we take for granted.”
