Broward Community College Students Host Charity Concert

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (March 3, 2008) – Members of the student organizations Business Professionals of America and Phi Theta Kappa hosted a Charity concert to benefit Food For The Poor and Invisible Children at the Omni Auditorium at Broward Community College North Campus in Coconut Creek. Participating artist included, Temple, Hollywood Love Scene, Mistah, Jimi the Ninja, Tha Hood Diezel, Rich Nice, Zonked, and Opium for the Masses. Close to a thousand dollars was raised, and hundreds of canned goods were collected by Food For The Poor.

“As a student leader on campus, I felt responsible to use my position as a platform to help others who are less fortunate,” said Paola Mariselli, President of the Business Professionals of America and Vice President of Phi Theta Kappa.

Food For The Poor, the largest charity in Florida, will host an annual Fun Walk at its’ headquarters in Coconut Creek on April 5th. An invitation to participate has been extended to all South Florida residents. With a pledge of just $12, Food For The Poor can feed a family of four for an entire month.
