COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (Sept. 26, 2013) – With only a month remaining, now is the time to register to join students nationwide in Food For The Poor’s upcoming All-Nighter for the Poor on Oct. 17. The most successful fundraiser on each of the top 10 collegiate teams to raise at least $1,500 is eligible to earn a seat on a Food For The Poor house-building mission trip to Jamaica in June 2014.
“Students are encouraged to ask their friends through email, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, as well as their general contacts, to consider helping the poor,” said Angel Aloma, Food For The Poor’s Executive Director.
By raising money and awareness about malnutrition, students can make a tangible difference in tackling poverty in developing countries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America.
Students at these schools have committed to support the cause: Broward College, Florida International University, George Mason University, Miami University, Penn State, Southern Illinois University, University of the District of Columbia, and University of Miami.
Interested students can find helpful tools and tips to plan an All-Nighter online and templates to create personalized fundraising web pages. Participating in the charity’s All-Nighter is a great opportunity for campuses and their student organizations to demonstrate their philanthropic spirit, be creative and have fun for a good cause.
