Liquid I.V. Donates Oral Rehydration Solutions to FFP
COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (July 16, 2020) Food For The Poor has added to its arsenal in the fight against malnutrition in Guatemala, thanks to a donation of 1,300 cases of oral rehydration solutions from the California-based company Liquid I.V.
“Thanks to our donors, children who receive healthcare and healthy meals from our in-country partners have benefited from this donation,” said Angel Aloma, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Food For The Poor. “We are thankful to Liquid I.V. for their donation, as it adds an important element of care to recovery from malnutrition.”
Guatemala has the sixth highest level of chronic malnutrition in the world, and the highest in Latin America and the Caribbean, according to the United States Agency for International Development.
Founded in 2012, Liquid I.V. follows the World Health Organization’s guidelines, and that its flavored non-GMO electrolyte drink mix uses a specific ratio of sodium, glucose, and potassium to deliver water and other key nutrients directly to the bloodstream.
As part of the company’s 1-for-1 Giveback Mission to Change the World, Liquid I.V. has donated more than 5 million servings worldwide, including the 390,000 servings of Liquid I.V. Hydration Multiplier Lemon Lime drink mix to Food For The Poor.
“They are helping so many people in Guatemala, especially those suffering from COVID-19,” Liquid I.V. Mission Vice President Sean Lavin said. “There’s a lot of malnutrition among the kids and a lot of immunity issues. To have hydration products like ours, which deliver nutrients and minerals as a healthy intake, will help tremendously. And we’re honored to be a part of that team.”
