Desperate Prayers Answered

November 22, 2021July 30, 2021 Jeanne Villena

Every night, 3-year-old Anisa laid her thin blanket out on the wood floor before going to sleep, crowded into a small corner of the rundown shack in Guyana with her four older siblings.

Rain often interrupted their sleep as water leaked through the rusted zinc roof. Their mother, Patricia, plugged the holes with strips of cloth, but it was never enough to stop the water from soaking everyone.

She worried about her children’s health and prayed for their protection. “I ask God for help,” she said. “I ask God to guide them and protect them.”

Through the loving compassion and kind generosity of donors like you, Patricia’s desperate prayers were answered, and Anisa and her family now sleep soundly each night on comfortable beds, in a safe, secure and very dry Food For The Poor home.
