A Childhood Saved

Little Darwin was just 5 days old when his parents took him to a local hospital in Guatemala. Distraught that he weighed only 3 pounds, his parents had no idea what to do. Sadly, the doctors felt there was nothing they could do to save the infant.

Fortunately, because of the vast network of partners who work with Food For The Poor, the hospital staff was aware of an FFTP donor-supported nutrition clinic where Darwin could go and receive care 24 hours a day. The hospital staff quickly put Darwin and his parents into an ambulance and rushed them to the clinic.
