COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (July 18, 2013) – Food For The Poor invites you to vote for your favorite illustration in the 2013 Angels Of Hope drawing contest, which showcases vibrant artwork by the Angels Of Hope orphans. The top entries were chosen from eight countries and split into two age divisions, which are featured on Food For The Poor’s Facebook page. It’s up to you to help select a winner.

The contest ends July 29, so log on now and show your support for your favorite drawing in each category. Be sure to return to the Food For The Poor Facebook page for updates on your favorite pieces throughout the voting process. A winner will be announced via the Facebook page on July 30, and the winning artist from each division will receive $500 for their Food For The Poor-supported home.

Food For The Poor’s Angels Of Hope program supports approximately 3,900 children in 117 orphanages throughout the Caribbean and Latin America, where they receive food, clothing, shelter, education, love and attention. The annual drawing contest gives these angels an opportunity to showcase their artistic talents.

This year’s Junior Category, which includes children 12 and under, features artwork inspired by the theme “The Risen Christ.” The Senior Division, featuring children ages 13 and up, created artwork about “The Ten Commandments.” With one click of the mouse, you can vote for your favorite piece and also instill hope and confidence in these young artists. For children who have faced trauma and sorrow so early in their lives, such hope is a gift as precious as the children themselves.

Food For The Poor, named by The Chronicle of Philanthropy as the largest international relief and development organization in the nation, does much more than feed millions of the hungry poor in 17 countries of the Caribbean and Latin America. This interdenominational Christian ministry provides emergency relief assistance, clean water, medicines, educational materials, homes, support for orphans and the aged, skills training and micro-enterprise development assistance, with more than 95 percent of all donations going directly to programs that help the poor.
