On the third anniversary of the earthquake that crumbled homes and hopes in Haiti, we’d like to share a poem of remembrance and commitment written by Angel Aloma, executive director of Food For The Poor.
One of the more powerful lines in his poem, titled “Beloved Haiti,” is this:
“Oh Haiti, land enslaved by misery.
Land of tears and smiles.
Land of sorrow and eternal hope, I will not forget you Haiti.
I cannot forget you Haiti.”
Hear the poem, read by Angel, in its entirety below. If you’d like to help families in Haiti recover and transform their lives, please donate to www.foodforthepoor.org/haitiearthquake.
