Blogger Joins Campbell’s Soup Challenge
COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (Feb. 12, 2010) – Laura Levy, popular online food blogger of www.LaurasBestRecipes.com, wants you to watch, vote and help raise money for Haiti. Levy hopes to tally up the most votes in this latest online recipe competition, sponsored by Campbell’s Soup Company and www.GoodBite.com. If she wins, she’ll donate her entire prize earnings to her favorite charity, Food For The Poor.
Campbell’s and Good Bite asked five of the nation’s top food bloggers to come up with a dinner recipe using one of Campbell’s Condensed “Great for Cooking” Soups. Good Bite produced a video series showcasing the preparation of the recipes. Internet users can watch and then vote for their favorite recipe once every 24 hours.
Laura Levy’s recipe is called California Coq Au Vin, and she uses Campbell’s Chicken Broth to create this dish. Levy is asking all of her recipe site’s visitors, Twitter followers and Facebook fans to visit www.goodbite.com/campbells and vote so she can help Food For The Poor feed impoverished children in Haiti.
“We’ve all seen the horrors of the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti,” said Levy. “Food For The Poor has been helping the children of this already impoverished country for many years. They provide whatever is needed on an emergency level, but they also focus on providing good housing and education that gives these families the tools to strive for a much better way of life.”
This past December, Levy won a similar online competition sponsored by Quaker Oats and Good Bite. She donated the $10,000 prize to Food For The Poor. She then became a “Champion” for the charity and continues to raise money for needy children living in the village of Shadda near Cap-Haitien, Haiti. The Campbell’s/ Good Bite challenge wraps up on March 15, and Levy says if she does win, the $1,000 would be donated to Food For The Poor’s feeding program for the children in Shadda.
