Food For The Poor is partnering with Chariot, a payments company dedicated to DAF giving, to spearhead the launch of the first-ever DAF Day on Thursday, October 10.
DAF, or donor-advised funds, are a tax-advantaged charitable giving accounts similar to a 401(k) for retirement or an HSA for health care expenses. They have grown rapidly in recent years, with the number of accounts increasing nine times since 2012 and disbursing $52 billion in 2022. Research shows that DAF donors give 19 times as much as non-DAF donors, and when an existing non-DAF donor starts giving from a DAF, their annual support increases by 96%.
This movement is crucial for Food For The Poor, as it comes at a time when people in Latin America and the Caribbean are facing urgent challenges related to poverty. With a staggering $230 billion already set aside for giving in DAF accounts, the potential for impact is immense, and your contribution can be part of this powerful collective effort to transform lives and bring hope to those in need.
