Dennis A. North, CPA, was appointed to the Food For The Poor (FFTP) Board of Directors in December 2024 and subsequently was named Treasurer in June 2025.

North, who also serves on the board’s Audit and Finance Committees, previously was the Executive Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer/Chief Financial Officer of FFTP. For nearly 15 years, he was responsible for the financial oversight of the organization and the core administrative functions that support business processing.

A longtime Florida resident, North is a graduate of Florida State University and a Certified Public Accountant. After nine years in the public accounting industry,

he was approached by one of his clients to work for a regional chain of auto parts stores as their Controller, later being promoted to CFO. Seventeen years later, North opened his own accounting office and specialized in providing interim CFO/Controller services for businesses.

After a year and a half on his own, North accepted a permanent position as the CFO at FFTP in August 2008. He seamlessly combined his corporate accounting expertise with his passion for serving others less fortunate until his retirement in June 2023.

North and his wife have two children and one grandson and live in Boca Raton, Fla. He serves on the Board of Alzheimer’s Community Care, Inc., of West Palm Beach, Fla., where he is a member of the Audit, Finance and Human Resources committees. He is also active in his church, serving as Chairman of the Finance Committee and a member of the Leadership Development Committee.
