Food For The Poor Wins Prestigious 2016 Mail Innovation Award

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (March 18, 2016) Food For The Poor will receive the prestigious 2016 Mail Innovation Award from the United States Postal Service at the annual National Postal Forum, which will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn., on Tuesday, March 22.

Megan J. Brennan, Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. Postal Service, will honor Food For The Poor for its innovation, teamwork, communication and customer service with local postal managers. Vanessa Tirado, Food For The Poor Production Director, will receive the award on behalf of the international relief and development organization that’s been sending direct mail to its donors for more than three decades.

“It’s an honor and I am humbled to receive this award on behalf of Food For The Poor, and the people in the 17 countries the organization serves,” said Tirado. “During my 27 years with Food For The Poor I’ve seen tremendous growth and countless prayers answered. This award means a lot and will expose the wonderful work of this organization to a new segment of the population.”

The National Postal Forum was established in 1968 by a group of postal customers and mailers who were committed to an ongoing partnership with the United States Postal Service. Held annually in the spring, the National Postal Forum attracts thousands of attendees and hundreds of exhibitors. This year’s theme, Tune into Success, is more relevant than ever as the mailing industry continues to change.
