Food For The Poor Recognized as One of South Florida’s Top Places to Work
COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (May 22, 2026) — Food For The Poor (FFTP) has been awarded Top Workplaces 2026 honors by the South Florida Sun Sentinel, based on employee feedback gathered through an independent third-party survey.
The annual Top Workplaces program, presented by the newspaper for the 12th year in partnership with Energage, celebrates organizations that foster exceptional workplace cultures and prioritize employee engagement, leadership, and purpose-driven work.
The winners were announced at a ceremony on Thursday evening in Fort Lauderdale.
More than 8,400 organizations across South Florida were invited to participate in the 2026 survey, and more than 26,000 employees responded.
FFTP ranked 21st among 51 medium-sized employers who were honored. Those classified as midsize have 125-399 employees.
“This recognition is especially meaningful because it comes directly from our team members,” said FFTP President/CEO Ed Raine. “Our mission is rooted in compassion, service, and faith. To know that our employees feel connected to that mission and supported in their work every day is deeply encouraging. This award belongs to every team member who serves with dedication and heart.”
This marks the first time FFTP has been awarded the Top Workplaces honor.
“Our people are the foundation of everything we do,” said Food For The Poor’s EVP and Chief People Officer Arlene Velazquez. “This recognition reflects a workplace culture where employees feel valued, heard, and inspired by a shared purpose. We remain committed to investing in our team members and creating an environment where they can grow personally and professionally while making a meaningful impact on the lives of others,” she continued.
