Join The Pack Jamaica: FFTP Needs Volunteers to Pack 140,000 Meals
COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (Nov. 14, 2025) – Food For The Poor (FFTP) is calling on the South Florida community to volunteer for Join The Pack Jamaica, a large-scale emergency meal-packing event aimed at helping families devastated by Hurricane Melissa.
The charity, in partnership with Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) and Community Christian Church in Tamarac, needs hundreds of volunteers — children, teens, adults, church groups, schools, and corporate teams — to help pack 140,000 MannaPack meals that will be shipped directly to families in Jamaica who are facing severe food shortages after the storm.
“We cannot do this without volunteers,” said FFTP President/CEO Ed Raine. “If you’ve been watching what’s happening in Jamaica and wondering how you can help, this is one of the most tangible, meaningful ways to make a difference. Just two hours of your time will directly impact families who are wondering where their next meal will come from.”

A Critical Need After Hurricane Melissa
Hurricane Melissa’s destruction has left thousands of families in Jamaica struggling to access food, clean water, and basic necessities. The MannaPack meals packed at Join The Pack Jamaica will provide children and families with urgently needed nourishment during this crisis.
“We’re asking our South Florida neighbors to step forward,” Raine said. “This is a moment to show love in action. When you volunteer at Join The Pack, your hands become part of the lifeline reaching families who are hurting right now.”
