Mark Khouri, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, is a seasoned leader providing strategic direction for the efficiency, effectiveness, and sustained growth of Food For The Poor’s (FFTP) major operations, including Gifts-in-Kind (GIK), Projects, Purchasing, and Shipping & Logistics. Mark has more than two decades of dedicated experience in the realms of charity and international development.
In his multifaceted role, Mark not only spearheads crucial facets of FFTP’s operations but also takes charge of the organization’s child sponsorship program, Angels Of Hope. This initiative, focused on supporting children’s homes in Latin
America and the Caribbean, reflects Mark’s deep compassion and dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of those in need. Mark also oversees the Disaster Preparedness and Response team, positioning them as Day 1 responders to disasters in the region. This underscores his commitment to ensuring swift and effective assistance during times of crisis, showcasing FFTP’s commitment to community welfare. Having been promoted to Vice President in April 2017, Mark’s journey with FFTP began in 2002 when he initially served as Purchasing Agent but quickly ascended to the Director of the Gifts-in-Kind Department. His progressive trajectory within the organization attests to his invaluable contributions and leadership.
A Jamaican-born U.S. citizen and a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Mark has called South Florida home since 2001. Together with his wife and three children, he has woven the fabric of his personal and professional life into this vibrant community. Mark’s proficiency in conversational Spanish adds a global perspective to his endeavors, and personally, he finds joy in recreational mountain biking, embodying a well-rounded approach to life.
