A few weeks ago, Angel, our Executive Director, shared about a family living underneath a tarp in a garbage dump in Honduras. Angel wrote about Maria, who was 8 1/2 months pregnant. He called for prayer that her baby would be born and raised in a safe, new home, instead of in the hazardous dump.
Today, we are happy to report that Maria’s baby was delivered safely, and that they are now residing in their new home! In addition to the priceless gift of shelter, Food For The Poor donors (with the help of our invaluable partner organization in Honduras, CEPUDO) also stepped up to give Maria’s family two bunk bed sets, a double bed for mom and dad, a crib for the new baby, sheets, towels, dishes, hygiene supplies, cleaning supplies, a sofa, curtains, an eco-stove, food for one year, and scholarships for all of Maria’s children for one year.
Thank you for making this possible for Maria and her family. What a blessing for this family to be able to leave the garbage dump and have a safe place to call their own!
