Our donors are super heroes!

November 22, 2021November 30, 2017 Victoria Green

One hundred homes will be built for poor families in Jamaica, Honduras and Nicaragua, thanks to the generous support of Food For The Poor donors on #GivingTuesday. Food For The Poor Executive Director Angel Aloma shares his loving gratitude:

“Our donors are super heroes!

Our countries are always in crisis – and not necessarily from natural disasters. There is a great crisis where lack of housing is concerned. People in our countries are living in conditions that we would not allow for our farm animals, much less for our pets! Yesterday, on #GivingTuesday, our donors put on their cape of generosity and took up their sword of compassion and saved the day by donating enough to build more than 100 houses! Yes, you saved the day! Why? Because that’s what superheroes do!”

*ANIMAL HUSBANDRY: Food For The Poor has ongoing animal husbandry and apiary programs that support impoverished families and communities. The funds that are raised from animals and bees in this catalog are used to support the aforementioned programs.

**HOUSING: Because of the size and need of the average family, for $9,800, we build all houses with two bedrooms and a living area, sanitation and a water component, a cooking area, a sink, furnishings, lighting and structural elements to withstand severe weather conditions. You will receive a Certificate of Appreciation with a photograph of the family in front of their secure and comfortable home.
