(Jul. 22, 2026) “Far from Venezuela, but united by the same purpose, hundreds of volunteers transformed a warehouse in Somerville into the heart of a humanitarian operation for almost three weeks. Donations collected at various collection centers throughout the state arrived there, driven by a community determined to help the victims of the June 24 earthquakes in Venezuela .
On Friday, July 17, that effort reached its first goal: 42,000 pounds of medicine, diapers, food, clothing, and hygiene products left for Florida in two Amazon trucks, with their final destination being the areas of Venezuela hit by the earthquakes.
