How to make your new year’s resolutions stick

November 22, 2021January 2, 2013 Joy

A new year brings renewed hope that our goals will be met. We’ll be slimmer, we say. We’ll spend more time with our families, we say. This is our last puff of a cigarette, we say.

According to Time magazine, those three resolutions are among the ones most-often broken.  That’s not to say you can’t lose weight. But instead of saying you’ll lose 30 pounds, experts recommend committing to taking 15-minute walks each day.

For a resolution to work experts say the goal should be real and reachable. It should be something that matters to you; something that comes with a plan; something that has milestones.

And would you believe we have just the attainable goal for you?!

By resolving to be a Champion for the Poor , you can raise money to build a home, install a water well or provide 500 lbs. of rice and beans.

In just three steps, you can be on your way to accomplishing your goal of making someone’s life better in 2013. To get started, please visit www.foodforthepoor.org/resolution.

**HOUSING: Because of the size and need of the average family, for $9,800, we build all houses with two bedrooms and a living area, sanitation and a water component, a cooking area, a sink, furnishings, lighting and structural elements to withstand severe weather conditions. You will receive a Certificate of Appreciation with a photograph of the family in front of their secure and comfortable home.
