Weston, Fla., Company Providing Lifesaving Nutrition to Haiti
COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (Nov. 18, 2016) Many survivors of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti have gone days without food or proper nutrition. But help is on the way thanks to VPX Performance Nutrition.
The Weston, Fla., company has donated 20 pallets of a protein/energy drink – equal to 28,000 individual servings – to Food For The Poor to help desperate families impacted by the storm that devastated the country’s southern peninsula on Oct. 4.
The donation comes at a time when Hurricane Matthew damage has left Haiti in danger of a severe food crisis, putting hundreds of thousands of lives at risk. The need is widespread – if an area was not directly hit, it has been affected by the migration of those looking for food and water.
The energy drinks were loaded Thursday at the company’s Weston office and are being shipped directly to Haiti.
VPX Protein Rush is a ready-to-drink protein shake blend. Each shake provides 40 grams of the highest quality proteins.
“When an island like Haiti suffers extreme devastation, clean food and water is an urgent priority. What people need most is a super high-quality source of animal-based protein,” said Jack Owoc, CEO of VPX Performance Nutrition.
“VPX Protein Rush is the highest quality shelf-stable ready-to-drink protein in the world. The taste is beyond amazing,” Owoc said.
The company’s generous donation will help provide lifesaving nutrition to thousands in Haiti at a time when many are forced to go hungry and suffer from severe malnourishment, said Angel Aloma, Food For The Poor’s Executive Director.
“We are working hard to meet their needs and are grateful for the support of VPX Performance Nutrition. On behalf of the children and families who will be receiving these energy drinks, we say thank you,” Aloma said.
