Help FFP award $500 to an orphaned child

November 22, 2021July 17, 2012 Megan

Angels of Hope Director Tricia Szymanski shares the inside scoop on FFP’s annual Angels of Hope Drawing Contest:

"Angels of Hope"
Last year, Michael Estiven Mejia, 12, won in the Junior Division for his drawing (Letter E) depicting “Noah’s Ark,” as described in Genesis 7:8-10. Michael lives at a FFP-supported home in El Salvador. His winning art is above.

The Angels of Hope Drawing Contest has become one of the highlights of the year for the artists that participate.  The children are always excited to hear the new themes each year and love to compare their art with that of the children from other countries.  The contest is held within each AOH-sponsored home individually.  Junior and Senior winners are chosen and the homes plan a prize or some form of recognition for the winners.  Then a contest is held by each country.  The winners from each home compete against their peers for a final Junior and Senior winner by country.  Once again, those winner are recognized and awarded for their talents.  Those winners come to represent their country in the AOH International Drawing Contest’s final judging.  The artists are excited and awed to think that their drawing will compete with other drawings from countries around their region.  It is a very special time for the children to feel proud of their accomplishments.  The final winners will not only win the pride of winning a contest amongst thousands of other children, but they will also get a $500 cash prize to be used towards that child’s own personal needs.

So please visit our Drawing Contest page to see the impressive talents of our amazing children and participate in the selection of the final winners by placing your vote!
